If I get a clitoropexy does the doctor determine how high it should go?

Generally speaking, no one determines anything during your operation without your consent or pre-discussed knowledge. What helps a lot of women is taking a look at our vaginal rejuvenation pictures to get a better idea of what things are going to look like. Take a look at our gallery, here. But during your operation, it’s not like Dr. Shashoua can peak his head up and inform you of every step of the process.

At the time of the clitoropexy surgery, Dr. Shashoua uses his experience and vast knowledge to determine the positioning of the clitoris and how high it should go but makes it an objective of his to deliver an informative and detailed break-down pre- and post-op.

One of the things Dr. Shashoua looks out for is bulging. When noticed, the surrounding tissue is reduced in order to stop the protruding effect. The steps that follow consist of minor adjustments and simple revisions that are based off one’s natural anatomy and congruency. The process involved with clitoropexy surgery and clitoral hood reduction procedures are heavily reliant on these steps and have been performed by Dr. Shashoua numerous times. While the changes may be subtle, you will notice far less bulging and a flatter labia/clitoral hood postoperatively.

A clitoropexy surgery can also be combined with a labiaplasty if needed. Dr. Shashoua will work with you to decide what surgeries will best benefit you and what you think will look best. Surrounding tissues mentioned earlier can be removed during the same clitoropexy or clitoral hood reduction to avoid multiple surgeries. Vaginal rejuvenation alongside a clitoropexy can decrease the appearance of bulging and reverse the effects of testosterone which often cause clitoral growth.

Following the operation, Dr. Shashoua and his team give you a complete rundown of what actually went down, and make themselves available for questions long after you leave. Besides the actual operation, the ALVR team makes it their primary objective to ensure you’re informed and comfortable with everything that has happened and needs to happen.

While patient-doctor relationships tend to be limited, Dr. Shashoua ensures complete and totally transparent communication from beginning, middle, to end.
