How Does ThermiVa® Work?
ThermiVa is a non-surgical, non-ablative treatment that uses controlled radiofrequency (RF) energy to gently heat the vaginal and vulvar tissues. Unlike ablative treatments that intentionally remove or create controlled injury to the surface of the tissue, ThermiVa delivers heat beneath the surface while leaving the overlying tissue intact.
During treatment, a small, specially designed applicator delivers RF energy to the internal vaginal tissues and/or external vulvar area. Treatment is performed in the office and does not require anesthesia. We recommend a series of 3 treatments for maximum outcomes.
This controlled heating promotes collagen remodeling and supports increased blood flow, which may help improve tissue tone, elasticity, and moisture. Because the treatment is non-ablative, there are no incisions or intentionally created open wounds, allowing patients to return to normal activities with little to no downtime.
ThermiVa® can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other therapies, including hormone replacement therapy, extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), or labiaplasty, as part of a comprehensive approach to improving sexual health and function.
