Why We Do Inpatient Versus Outpatient Labiaplasties

If there is the option to decrease costs and increase comfortability for a medical procedure, why choose anything else!
At Austin Urogynecology, we typically perform our labiaplasty procedures outpatient (in the office) rather than inpatient (at the hospital). There are multiple benefits to an outpatient procedure, including cost and comfortability.
The cost is greatly reduced because there are not any additional hospital charges such as facility or anesthesiology fees. Not to worry about pain control though! A local anesthetic and oral medications are just as effective and much less costly. The anesthetics are administered prior, during, and after your procedure, minimizing your discomfort.
While the cost is greatly reduced, many would argue that comfortability is increased. Does anybody like going to the hospital? Our offices, on the other hand, offer a warm, welcome environment with all the high grade equipment we need. When you come in for your procedure, you will see familiar faces from the second you walk in the door. Knowing a few faces greatly decreases the anxiety factor that many individuals experience before a procedure. After check-in, one of our medical assistants takes you back to one of our comfy procedure rooms. From the light green colors to the natural lighting, our facility helps calm and soften nervous tensions. Additionally, the staff is right by your side every step of the way, before, during, and after the procedure, providing constant support.
