We prescribe oral medications which are taken about one hour prior to the procedure. After taking these medications, the patient will feel sleepy and relaxed and usually fall asleep during the procedure.  A local anesthetic is provided at the site of the procedure through an injection and, once completed, patients are fully anesthetized without the need for being put to sleep. Procedures typically take around three hours and patients are able to immediately walk out of our office and get back to the comfort of their own home.
