Here’s what you can expect from a labiaplasty at ALVR. First, we’ll begin with a consultation where we’ll go over your specific needs and symptoms. On the day of your labiaplasty, you’ll simply come to our offices and we’ll begin the prep for your procedure. Patients will receive medication to help them relax during the procedure, and we’ll also use a cream to help numb the area beforehand. In addition, patients are provided with a patient-controlled analgesic. The procedure itself involves a trimming technique to reduce an enlarged labia minora. The part of the skin where the clitoral hood meets the vaginal opening is also reduced using the wedge technique. All in all, the entire process will probably take around 2-3 hours. 

Taking time to heal is absolutely essential. We suggest that patients take a week off of work, and hold off on vaginal intercourse for about six weeks. You’ll also have sutures from surgery that will take between 4-6 weeks to dissolve. Throughout that time we’ll continue checking in with you, and will schedule a couple follow-up appointments to ensure everything is healing adequately.
