How Much Does A Labiaplasty Cost?

Back to All

You know you want a labiaplasty but you’re wondering: how much does it cost?? Labiaplasty typically isn’t covered by insurance so this is a question we get very often. As important as it is to consider your budget, it’s even more critical to ensure that the procedure is performed in a safe setting and by a well-experienced doctor. Fortunately, at Austin Labiaplasty and Vaginal Rejuvenation you don’t have to compromise on either: our pricing is competitive and Dr. Shashoua is a board-certified urogynecologist with over 30+ years of experience. Labiaplasty procedures are also performed within the comfort of our state-of-the-art offices in Austin, Texas to help keep costs down.

The cost of a labiaplasty at ALVR is $3,900, which includes clitoral hood reduction. This is compared to pricing in the greater Austin area, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas that is upwards of $5,000, $6,000, or even $8,000. The ability to safely perform procedures from our office allows us to be more reasonable with our prices, whereas other practices might conduct your labiaplasty in a hospital setting. It’s because of our pricing and expertise that we often have patients travel to visit us in Austin for their labiaplasty – in fact, we see patients from all over Texas (and the country) coming into town for a vajay-cay

Here’s what you can expect from a labiaplasty at ALVR. First, we’ll begin with a consultation where we’ll go over your specific needs and symptoms. This allows us to determine the best gameplan for your unique labia. If you’re not in the Austin area but want to have a labiaplasty at ALVR, we’re able to offer remote consultations too. Remote patients will upload photos and paperwork ahead of time to a secure portal so that we can review them at your virtual appointment. After your consultation, you’ll schedule your labiaplasty – keep in mind when scheduling that you’re going to need someone to be able to pick you up afterwards since you’ll be woozy from the medicine.

On the day of your labiaplasty, you’ll simply come to our offices and we’ll begin the prep for your procedure. Patients will receive medication to help them relax during the procedure, and we’ll also use a cream to help numb the area beforehand. In addition, patients are provided with a patient-controlled analgesic. The procedure itself involves a trimming technique to reduce an enlarged labia minora. The part of the skin where the clitoral hood meets the vaginal opening is also reduced using the wedge technique. All in all, the entire process will probably take around 2-3 hours.

Taking time to heal is absolutely essential. We suggest that patients take a week off of work, and hold off on vaginal intercourse for about six weeks. You’ll also have sutures from surgery that will take between 4-6 weeks to dissolve. Throughout that time we’ll continue checking in with you, and will schedule a couple follow-up appointments to ensure everything is healing adequately.

If you’re ready to take the plunge and try labiaplasty, we’re here and ready to talk. Contact us today to schedule your free consultation.
