How Long Does It Take For Testosterone Pellets To Work?

Back to AllIf you have low testosterone or estrogen, chances are you’ve probably heard of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) as a treatment option. Unlike other forms of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) that rely on synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones are plant-derived and most similar to the ones your body naturally creates.
One popular form of BHRT that’s available here at Austin Labiaplasty and Vaginal Rejuvenation is Sottopelle testosterone pellet therapy.
Sottopelle isn’t just a more natural option; it’s also a super easy procedure that’s done in our clinic with minimal downtime. First, the injection site is numbed with local anaesthetic. The pellets (which are about the size of a grain of rice) are then inserted and a small dressing is placed over the injection site. The exact hormone dosage will vary from person to person and is determined in advance by lab work.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of Sottopelle is that the pellets offer a more constant state of hormone secretion than other options. Bringing consistency and balance to your hormone levels can lead to a variety of benefits, from increased libido and energy to improved cognition and mood and a stronger cardiovascular system.
You might be thinking, “This all sounds great, how quickly will I see results?” Most patients begin to feel a difference within four weeks.
The pellets are typically replaced every three to six months, but your provider will run lab work at regular intervals to confirm. Typically, you’ll know it’s time to replace your pellets because the benefits will begin to wear off and the same symptoms that led to you getting pellets in the first place will re-appear. Some patients may also need to use an oral supplement to optimize their pellet dosage.
If you’re suffering from hormonal imbalances – or think you are – don’t wait to seek help. Because the symptoms are often vague or associated with other conditions, hormonal imbalances or low testosterone tend to go undiagnosed. That’s why it’s important to stay in touch with your body and recognize any possible symptoms. It’s possible you’re dealing with a hormonal imbalance if you experience any of the following: decreased sexual desire, decreased sexual satisfaction, dampened mood, and/or low energy.
At Austin Labiaplasty and Vaginal Rejuvenation, we can look into your symptoms, identify the root cause, and explore possible treatment options – like Sottopelle – if you have hormonal imbalances. Contact us for a free consultation today!
