Just Wait for the Victory Lap – Labiaplasty

Back to All

Let’s first suggest sometimes when it is not advised to undergo labiaplasty:

1) Soon before or after a colonoscopy
2) Your birthday
3) The day before your race in the Belmont Stakes
4) The 3rd full moon following the winter solstice.
5) A week before your honeymoon, (or your trip to Spain).
6.) The same week as a 50 Shades marathon

In regards for the rest of your time spent, here are some stipulations surrounding the most optimal time to undergo labiaplasty.

Part 1: Planning

For planning purposes, there are some important things to consider when choosing the best window for your procedure and recovery. Things like work, school, travel and extracurricular activities. Following your labiaplasty, we recommend taking 1 week off from work or school to allow for healing. You’ll be up and about during that time but will want to avoid any strenuous activity. During and after the first week, you will slowly return to your normal routine. It is important to note that you should avoid water (ie. swimming pools, hot tubs, lakes, and the ocean) for 2 full weeks after the procedure. You will need to avoid any aggressive activities such as cross fit, horseback riding, jiu-jitsu, extreme parkour as well as intercourse, for 6 weeks, until you are fully healed. After 6 weeks you’ll be cleared for full activity with no limitations. And we mean NO limitations. Really, go nuts.

Part 2: Executing

So, when do you finally make the move and schedule your consultation? You’ve been researching for years and have been bothered by “issues” longer than you can remember. If this is you, then you’re not alone. Many women tell us they have been contemplating this procedure longer than they care to admit but weren’t sure about how to proceed (or if they were ready). And, many didn’t even know the procedure existed until recently. Perhaps your concern is discomfort caused by excess labial tissue or a less than climactic sex life due to clitoral hooding. Or maybe you’d just like a little facelift “downtown” so that things look as good as they feel. Regardless of your objectives, now is a great time to take the first step by scheduling a visit to Austin’s best labiaplasty provider and labiaplasty surgeon.

At your consultation, we’ll provide an evaluation; discuss your options, and the results you want to achieve. Your appointment will involve a brief physical exam during which time, we’ll take a photo, and then review the photo with you. We’ll provide an overview of the labiaplasty procedure, including pre and post-operative care, and answer any questions you may have. If you’re ready to move forward, you’ll meet with our scheduler to select a time for your outpatient surgery.

It’s important to you, and to us, that you have a high level of comfort and confidence in the team you entrust with your procedure. Dr. Shashoua is a board-certified surgeon specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine who has successfully performed hundreds of surgeries. In fact, Dr. Shashoua performs labiaplasty as often as he gets his shoes shined (2-4 times a week). And let me tell you, those are some shiny shoes. He is recommended by both patients and peers as one of the best labiaplasty surgeons in Texas and is recognized for the trusting relationships he’s formed with patients. In addition to labiaplasty, we provide additional vaginal rejuvenation modalities at our Austin based facility. Just call and ask. (512)973-8276
